The Global Diaspora Forum is an annual celebration of the contributions diaspora communities make to their countries of origin.

To be held May 13-14, 2013, the Global Diaspora Forum will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, all passionate about promoting diaspora engagement, including:

  • Leaders of diaspora communities
  • U.S. Government officials
  • Private sector stakeholders
  • Representatives of international institutions
  • Foundation executives
  • Academic experts
  • Members of nonprofit organizations

The 2013 Global Diaspora Forum marks the third year of the event and features an updated format to engage even more diapsora communities. This year, Global Diaspora Forum events will be held in Washington, DC; Dublin, Ireland; Silicon Valley; and Los Angeles. Technology will enable participants in all locations to connect with the innovations and ideas being discussed at the other locations.

The theme for the 2013 Global Diaspora Forum is “Where Ideas Meet Action” and will feature inspiring stories from prominent figures in American popular culture, demonstrate exemplary initiatives in international development and diplomacy undertaken by diasporans of all generations, and showcase methods of cultural bridge-building that encourage young diasporans to connect with their countries of heritage.

We hope you can join us to discuss how to build new partnerships, share your experiences, and invent new ways to build connections between diaspora communities and their countries of settlement and origin.
