Special Representative Holbrooke: "As a demonstration of the United States sustained commitment to expanding and continuing our partnership with Pakistan, and in close consultation with our Congress, the U.S. will fast track $500 million of the funds provided under the Kerry-Lugar legislation. That would be one third of $1.5 billion for civilian assistance in the first year."
