Remarks After His Meeting with King Mohamed VI of Morocco

Secretary Colin L. Powell
Washington, DC
April 22, 2002

SECRETARY POWELL:  --  (In Progress) about the Middle East, and I briefed him on my trip, the accomplishments of my trip, and some of the difficult work that lies ahead.  And as always, I appreciated His Majesty's insight into this issue, and I look forward to seeing him again tomorrow.  We had a good meeting, and I'm sure my colleague will agree.

QUESTION:  What about the relationship between Morocco and the United States of America?

SECRETARY POWELL:  I think it's one of our oldest friends and allies.  It's a strong relationship now, as it has been for many, many years.
