On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the children and families of Korea on Children’s Day this May 5.
As parents and children spend this day enjoying family activities, we reflect on the important steps that the Republic of Korea (R.O.K.) has taken to promote the welfare of children. This year, as we celebrate the diamond anniversary of the U.S.–R.O.K. alliance and reflect on sixty years of partnership and shared prosperity, we renew our commitment to our children, who represent the shared future of our alliance.
We look forward to our future generations continuing our partnership and working together toward a peaceful and prosperous future.
On this special day dedicated to our children, I thank the Korean Government for its leadership as we work together to realize our shared vision for a better world.
The United States stands with you as a partner and a friend in this effort.
