On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Norway on your Constitution Day this May 17.
The United States and our NATO Ally Norway’s strong friendship is vital in the face of global challenges. We’re natural partners in addressing today’s most important international issues.
From promoting stability in Syria and Afghanistan, to advancing peace in the Middle East and protecting the Arctic, together, as we discussed this past week in the Arctic Council, our partnership is making a difference.
The United States greatly appreciates Norway’s leadership in all of these areas, and we look forward to many years of cooperation creating a more stable and prosperous future for all.
On this special day, I extend our warmest wishes to the people of Norway.
