On behalf of the people of United States, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to the people of Belize as they celebrate twenty-eight years of independence tomorrow.
As families gather across Belize to watch the flag being raised at midnight, they can be proud of their nation's vibrant democracy and commitment to enhancing security, protecting the environment, and creating opportunities across the region.
We send our best wishes on this occasion and hope our shared values and common interests continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two nations.
