On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of the Principality of Liechtenstein as you celebrate your national day this August 15. This is an opportunity to honor the friendship between Liechtenstein and the United States as well as our shared embrace of democracy and defense of individual liberties. I wish all citizens of Liechtenstein a happy holiday as you mark 204 years of independence, and look forward to many years of continued cooperation between our nations.
