On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Antigua and Barbuda on 29 years of independence this November 1. The strong economic, cultural, and historic ties that bind our nations are further strengthened by our shared commitment to promoting democracy and human rights. Our partnership on issues of regional concern is helping build a brighter future for all our people and the entire Caribbean. I wish you a joyous Independence Day celebration and look forward to continuing our strong friendship.
