On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Namibia as you celebrate the 22nd anniversary of your independence this March 21.
The United States and the people of Namibia share a strong history as partners and friends. Together, we are working to improve health services, strengthen education, promote trade, and expand development. Namibia has been committed to the tenets of democracy since independence, and your country now serves as a model for the region.
The United States stands with Namibians as you celebrate your independence, and we are committed to a more peaceful and prosperous future for all our people.
