On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Slovenia as you celebrate your Independence Day this June 25.
From Kosovo to Afghanistan and around the world, Slovenia is championing democratic values and promoting the freedoms and human rights that our two nations value. In just over two decades, Slovenia has become a strong partner in NATO and other multinational organizations. You have set a positive example for others to follow and given your experience and assistance to nations striving to become successful democracies.
Congratulations on the twenty-first anniversary of your independence. On this special day, know that the United States stands with all Slovenians as a partner and friend. Best wishes for continued peace, prosperity and success.
