On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Vanuatu as you celebrate the 32nd anniversary of your independence this July 30.
The United and States and Vanuatu share a strong relationship based on mutual interests and a commitment to democratic ideals. We are continuing to build this relationship by working together to strengthen development, promote sustainably managed fisheries, increase security and curb the effects of climate change. The United States is committed to continuing this work in partnership with Vanuatu and the entire Pacific Region.
As you celebrate your National Day with family and friends, know that the United States stands with you. Best wishes for continued peace and prosperity in the year to come.
