SECRETARY CLINTON: I just want to say, Madam President, how honored and privileged I am to be here in Malawi, and how strongly the United States supports you and your government and your efforts on behalf of the people of this absolutely wonderful country.
PRESIDENT BANDA: Hillary Clinton, it’s a pleasure. I’m very proud to see you in Malawi. (Laughter.) For a long time, we’ve both been women (inaudible). And I was waiting for the day that we would meet.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Yes.
PRESIDENT BANDA: And we meet today (inaudible). And I’m proud.
SECRETARY CLINTON: I am very proud to be here. (Applause.)
