On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the Korean people as you celebrate Chuseok this September 30.
This is a time to come together with family and friends; reflect on all that the Korean people have accomplished; honor your rich cultural heritage; and share traditional food, drink, and blessings. Americans similarly gather with loved ones on our harvest holiday of Thanksgiving.
Our shared values of family and tradition underscore the deep ties that unite American and Korean people the world over. Congratulations on another year of peace and prosperity. I wish all Koreans and their families a safe and happy Chuseok.
