On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of the Federated States of Micronesia as you celebrate the anniversary of your nation’s independence this November 3.
The United States and the Federated States of Micronesia share a close partnership based on mutual respect and shared interests. We look forward to strengthening this relationship even more by fostering economic growth, strengthening health and education services for all Micronesians, working to combat climate change, and improving regional security and through our Compact of Free Association. I would like to express our deep gratitude to the Micronesians who have advanced our common security and that of the global community by voluntarily serving in the United States Armed Forces.
As you celebrate your independence day, know that the United States stands with you as an unwavering partner and friend. I wish the people of the Federated States of Micronesia a year of great success and prosperity.
