Definitions

      

Observation aircraft: unarmed, fixed wing aircraft designated to make Observation Flights and equipped with agreed sensors.

Sensor: equipment of a category specified in Article IV, installed on Observation Aircraft for use during the conduct of observation flights.

Optical Panoramic and Framing cameras: 30 cm ground resolution

Video cameras: 30 cm ground resolution

IR line-scanning devices: 50 cm ground resolution

Sideways-looking Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR): 3 m ground resolution

     

Recording media

 

Photographic cameras: black & white film

Video cameras: magnetic tape & hard drive (digital video camera)

IR sensors: black & white film or magnetic tape / hard drive

Radar: magnetic tape & hard drive
