WMD Terrorism Experts Network

The Department of State requires the capacity to access the essential scientific, economic, political, military, and technological information necessary to conduct effective and efficient diplomatic efforts to combat the nexus of weapons of mass destruction and terrorists. The Office of WMD Terrorism has established a growing network of relationships with weapons of mass destruction and terrorism experts from across the U.S. Government to fulfill this requirement, to support the specific needs of Department of State bureaus and diplomatic missions, and to strengthen the sharing of WMD terrorism information to protect Americans.

Qualified experts from all U.S. Government departments, agencies, and laboratories are invited to participate in this WMD Terrorism Experts Network and support U.S. and international partner efforts to develop a layered defense to combat WMD terrorism. Participants in this network provide State Department officers with a large and growing fund of theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the nexus of weapons of mass destruction and terrorism and may be invited to work on the following activities, among others:

  • Partner capacity building missions
  • Workshops, exercises, and conferences
  • Technical support to diplomatic activities

Participants in the WMD Terrorism Experts Network can submit proposals to the Office of WMD Terrorism for the funding of research and development and other studies or capacity building projects related to combating WMD terrorism. For further information on joining this network or for other information regarding the Office of WMD Terrorism, please contact us at wmdterrorism@state.gov mailto:wmdterrorism@state.gov
