State Dept. photoOn Thursday, March 15, 2007, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Maltese Foreign Minister Michael Frendo signed a bilateral Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) shipboarding agreement. This is the seventh such agreement signed by the United States. This agreement is an important indication of Malta's commitment to combating the proliferation trade and its readiness to ensure that its more than 1,200 maritime vessels are not abused by proliferators. -- Media Note, March 15, 2007
