Dr. William GrahamDr. William R. Graham is the currently a member of the Board on the Army Science and Technology; the Department of State International Security Advisory Board; and the Defense Science Board. His fields of specialty include science and technology policy; development and integration of advanced technology counter proliferation; effects of and protection against chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons; ballistic missile defense and offense/defense integration. Dr. Graham’s career, which has spanned a period of over 35 years, has included the following positions: Chairman and CEO of National Security Research, Inc.; Director, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Confirmed by the Senate to serve as the Director, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Executive Office of the President, and concurrently, Deputy Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency; Chairman, General Advisory Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament; Chairman, U.S. Title XIV Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse Attack; Member, Department of Defense Transformation Study Group; Member, Commission to Assess United States National Security Space Management and Organization (Rumsfeld Commission on Space); Member, Commission on the Ballistic Missile Threat to the U.S.; Senior Vice President, Defense Research Group, Inc.; Chairman, Department of Defense's Strategic Defense Initiative Advisory Committee; Co-founder, Division Manager, and Senior Associate of R&D Associates; Staff member, Physics Department, RAND Corporation, Santa Monica, California. Dr. Graham served as a first Lieutenant on active duty with the Air Force as a technical project officer at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Graham holds membership in Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi Honorary Societies. He is the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Defense Special Weapons Agency’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the American Defense Preparedness Association’s Strategic Defense Award, and the Aerospace Industry Association’s Achievement Award. Dr. Graham graduated with a BS in Physics, with Honors, from California Institute of Technology; a MS in Engineering Science from Stanford University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. |
