Diplomacy in Action

2010 Review Conference

The 2010 NPT Review Cycle follows the constructive and creative collaboration demonstrated during the 2010 NPT Review Conference (RevCon). This effort produced a consensus Action Plan that reflects agreement on a forward-looking agenda encompassing both essential principles and sixty –four specific actions that all Parties can take to reinforce the three pillars of the NPT – nonproliferation, disarmament, and peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The Action Plan, the first of its kind in NPT history, represents a real achievement given the sheer number and complexity of the issues raised as well as the variety of perspectives and priorities. This review cycle, the United States has encouraged a balanced review of the Action Plan and remains committed to translating these actions into accomplishments.
