This chart depicts the conventional view of war, which has three levels: at the top-strategic, in the middle-operational, and at the lowest level-tactical. Pol-Mil interface occurs at the strategic level. In the conventional view, information and authority flow in a linear fashion from the top down. This view is Washington centric and mechanistic.
