Biographical Information on U.S. Chiefs of Mission
(East Asia and the Pacific)

As of December 31, 1999, the ambassadorship for Laos was vacant. As of August 2000, the ambassadorship for the Philippines and Palau was vacant. The U.S. does not have diplomatic relations with North Korea.
