ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The drafting, preparation, and organization of this brochure necessarily involved the collective efforts of a very large number of dedicated people from government and the private sector.

As Chair of the National Security Council (NSC) Subgroup on International Anticorruption and Diplomatic Initiatives, I am particularly grateful to the members of this interagency working group for their expertise and assistance in making this endeavor a reality. I am also profoundly appreciative of the important contributions made by private sector leaders in the fields of law, business, ethics, and accounting to review and comment at various points in the developmental process of this public diplomacy document. No doubt, their talents and guidance have made this brochure extremely practical and useful.

Finally, I would like to express my deep appreciation to David M. Luna, Special Advisor, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Department of State, Kim Tuminaro, Financial Economist, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, U.S. Department of State, and Kathyrn Nickerson, Attorney-Adviser, Office of the Chief Counsel for International Commerce, U.S. Department of Commerce, for their vision, diligence, and tireless devotion to the success and completion of this initiative.

Rob Boone
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State
for International Narcotics and
