These links display images and data for airstrip-supported villages in Sudan intended to aid humanitarian relief operations. The US Department of State makes no certification as to accuracy. Information may not be up to date, as many of these airstrips have not been used recently. Before using an airstrip, seek the advice of the United Nations and the local authorities.
The maps included are often hand-drawn images provided by AirServe and other NGO's in the area.
We need your input.
Users are reminded that today's humanitarian relief map is tomorrow's essential reference tool. Don't just file your maps and status reports. If you can, share them with a major national library like the Library of Congress or the British Museum and let us post the information. If you have more recent information, please give it to the REDSO Office at USAID/US Embassy, Nairobi for transmittal to the South Sudan Project or fax it to 202-647-9722. We are especially interested in information on safety hazards. If an airstrip is down or if a hazard has just appeared, please inform the UN and the Webmaster. Originally, this was simply a listing of airstrip maps, but in 1998 we decided to add other data on villages as well, an effort that continues in 1999. Reminder: No certification as to accuracy.
