2024 ACPD AR FrontCover Scaled

The 2024 Comprehensive Annual Report on Public Diplomacy and International Broadcasting, published by the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy in fulfillment of its congressional mandate, assesses the major public diplomacy and global media activities conducted by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM).

The report examines the resources, programs, and strategies that the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for Global Media use to advance U.S. foreign policy objectives. We have framed this report in the context of global competition between the United States and state and non-state actors who are competing directly with each other and for the hearts and minds of people far beyond their borders, recognizing the power of personal persuasion through proliferating information.

Well-resourced, effective public diplomacy is critical for successfully promoting American interests throughout the world. We hope that this report’s recommendations will help the State Department, the broader Executive Branch, and Congress continue to innovate and improve our PD efforts to sustain U.S. leadership in a competitive global environment.
