The Office of the Legal Adviser's regional bureaus oversee the U.S. embassies and consulates and coordinate U.S. foreign relations in their respective geographic areas. The Office of the Legal Adviser's functional bureaus have crosscutting, worldwide responsibilities for specific program areas.
