Infographic for the special needs at the assisted school in Cairo, Egypt at Cairo American College. In general the school can support students with learning needs that are MILD or MODERATE. The school is able and willing to accommodate students in the following categories: hearing impaired, physically or orthopedically impaired, visually impaired, other health impairment, speech and language impaired. The school has a self-contained classroom. Special Needs Support Services include: teacher accommodations, teacher accommodations learning support teacher, learning support teacher, co-teaching and team teaching in the classroom, academic support class secondary school, support for special needs preschoolers, use of IEP or ILP. O hours for push in or pull out. Special needs support staff include: 1 nurse, 4 learning support teachers, 3 Guidance counselors. The following services are available in English at post: psychoeducational assessment, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, Behavior and/or Autism Specialist, Social Skills Group/Social Skills Training, US Credentialed Reading Specialist, Math specialist, reading remediation, reading programs for dyslexia (ortho gillingham).
