In general, the school can support students whose learning support needs are MILD to MODERATE. We have a remedial teacher and facilitator program where we hire qualified individuals to support learning. There are additional fees for this program. Able and willing to accommodate students within the following categories: hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically or orthopedically impaired, specifically learning disabled,  intellectually disabled,  multiple disabilities, other health impairment, speech and language impaired.  Special Needs Support Services include: Teacher accommodations,  Teacher accommodations Learning support teacher, Learning support teacher, co-teaching/team teaching in the classroom, academic support class secondary school, special needs preschoolers, and use of ILP or IEP. Maximum hour per week per child for push in 35 and pull out 20. Special needs support staff in the school includes: 1 psychologist, 1 special needs coordinator, 1 learning support teacher, 2 guidance counselors. Services available at post in English at post include: psychoeducational assessment, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, Behavior and Autism Specialist, Social Skills Group/Social Skills Training, US credentialed reading specialist, reading remediation, Reading programs for dyslexia (orthon gillingham etc), and math specialist. The school will provide 1:1 classroom aide, special transportation,  transportation paraprofessional.

The American International School of Cape Town (AISCT) is a private, not-for-profit coeducational institution founded in 1997. The school educates 460 students from over 50 countries ranging in age between two and 18 years and employs teachers from around the world. The school has an average class size of 16 students with a student-teacher ratio of 10:1. Following the northern hemisphere calendar, the school year begins in August and ends in June.
