On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Argentina on the 207th anniversary of your independence on July 9.

This year marks 200 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Argentina as well as 40 years since Argentina’s return to democracy.  The United States deeply appreciates our long and fruitful partnership with Argentina.  Our nations enjoy a collaborative relationship based on shared commitments to democracy, human rights, a strong middle class, and shared economic prosperity.  We will continue partnering with Argentina to advance our shared vision for a safe, more prosperous, and more equitable future.

The United States extends its best wishes to the people of Argentina as they celebrate their independence.
