Adam Shub's term ended on February 14, 2022.

Adam Shub was the Acting Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. In this capacity, he led efforts to advocate for U.S. business interests abroad and to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and responsible business conduct. A member of the Senior Foreign Service, he was most recently Consul General in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Charge d’Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels. Adam has also served in a variety of overseas assignments including as Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs in Mexico City, and positions in Baghdad, Lima, Paris, Caracas, and Brasilia. Adam’s Washington assignments have included serving as Director for Regional Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, in the Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, and as Director for Middle East Affairs at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Adam holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BA in History from Columbia College in New York. He speaks French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese.
