Amanda Milius, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Global Public Affairs

Amanda Milius is the acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Content in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Global Public Affairs.

Ms. Milius joined the Department of State in January 2017. She previously served as a senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs; as a content advisor in the Bureau of International Information Programs; and she completed a detail in the office of Policy Planning under Director Dr. Kiron Skinner. In these roles, she advised Department leaders on content and developed integrated global communications plans around topics including Iran, Israel, border security and immigration, and other issues as they arose within the global narrative and the administration’s priorities.

Prior to joining the State Department, Ms. Milius worked in the film industry. She holds a master’s degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
