Christopher Johnson is currently the State Department’s Portuguese-Language Spokesperson and Deputy Director of the Media Hub of the Americas based in Miami, Florida.
Chris previously served at the U.S. Missions in Haiti, Paraguay, and Brazil as well as in Washington as the Cambodia Desk Officer. He holds a master’s degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Latin American Studies from New York University. He is proudly LGBTQI+, Latino, and Afro-descendant.
