Dan Cisek

Dan Cisek's term ended on December 22, 2024.

Daniel served as the State Department’s Russian-Language Spokesperson and Deputy Director of the Brussels Media Hub. He has served previously at U.S. embassies in Moscow, Kyiv (twice), Berlin, Islamabad, and the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai. Prior to entering the Foreign Service, Daniel worked as a policy advisor in the U.S. Senate and as a print journalist. He holds an M.A. in Post-Soviet Politics and International Relations from Indiana University and a B.A. in History and Political Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, near his hometown of Chicago. In addition to Russian, he speaks German and basic French.
