Eva Weigold Schultz’s term ended on June 6, 2019.

Eva Weigold Schultz has served as Deputy Executive Secretary at the Department of State since June 2017. In this role, she works with the Secretary’s staff, Bureau leadership, and Chiefs of Mission to shape information flows to the Secretary for policy decisions, and to design and execute overseas travel by the Secretary to advance policy goals.

Ms. Weigold Schultz is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior assignments in Washington include Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs, Deputy Director for the Office of the Arabian Peninsula in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Executive Director of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council (while on detail to Georgetown University), and Director for Andean Affairs at the National Security Council. Overseas assignments include Tel Aviv, Dublin, Frankfurt, and Kingston.
