John Brewer's term ended on August 10, 2023.
Dr. John Brewer is currently serving as the Deputy Medical Director for Clinical Services. He joined the U.S. Department of State in 2009 and initially served as a roving Regional Medical Officer (RMO), providing care in Tegucigalpa, Port au Prince, and Baghdad. Following that, he served multi-year tours as an RMO in Lima, Frankfurt, Almaty, and Accra. Prior to his current assignment, Dr. Brewer served as the Regional Medical Manager (RMM) for NEA/SCA.
Dr. Brewer is a board-certified family physician who attended medical school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and completed his residency at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After completing his residency, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a family doctor in Charleston, South Carolina for four years. Dr. Brewer then spent five years practicing family medicine in his hometown of Guntersville, Alabama.
