Kathy Wills Wright currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs. She specializes in management policy, international conferences, personnel appointments and a variety of special projects.

With more than twenty-five years of experience in communications, marketing, and government relations, Ms. Wright brings a wealth of both public and private sector expertise to her current role.  Prior to joining the Department of State, she served in the Office of the Majority Leader in the United States Senate as the Policy Advisor for Nominations.

Her previous government service includes tenures as Special Assistant to President for Policy in the Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives, as well as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of USA Freedom Corps. Ms. Wright’s prior State Department experience includes service as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary and the White House Liaison.

Ms. Wright began her service in the federal government as the West Wing Receptionist for President George H.W. Bush and continued in his administration as the White House Liaison in the Department of Transportation.  She has served stints in executive search, higher education, and publishing.  Mrs. Wright holds a BA and MA from Baylor University, and resides in Arlington, Virginia.
