Kevin Blackstone

Kevin Blackstone joined the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs as Executive Director in July 2017.  A Foreign Service Officer since 1991, Kevin served in consular and general services entry-level tours in Lagos and Rome, as GSO in Kampala, Regional HR Officer in Canberra, Management Officer in Toronto, Supervisory GSO in Cairo, Management Officer in New Delhi, Management Counselor in Bangkok, and a return to Cairo as  Management Minister-Counselor, 2015-2017.

Kevin served as an Admissions Program Officer in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, including a year directing the Bureau’s Washington Processing Center for admissions from the former Soviet Union.  From 2009-2010, Kevin served as Team Leader of the interagency Provincial Reconstruction Team in Wasit Province, Iraq.

He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School, Syracuse University.
