Luis A. Coronado, Jr. has served as the Chief Information Officer for the Bureau of Consular Affairs since January 2023. A career member of the SES since 2019, Mr. Coronado will oversee and direct all matters related to information technology, design, development, testing, maintenance, training, and implementation worldwide in support of the mission.

Mr. Coronado previously served as the Executive Director for IT Operations and the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) within Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Chief Information Officer. He also served as the Chief Security Architect/Deputy CISO for Customs and Border Protection and several positions with the Department of Defense.

Mr. Coronado is an Air Force Veteran. He holds a Bachelor of Science in information and Computer Science/Network Security from Park University, a Master’s Degree in Cyber and Information Security from Capitol Technology University, and numerous industry-recognized technology certifications.
