Ruth Berry's term ended on November 12, 2022.

Ruth Berry is the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Information and Communications Policy in the newly establish Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy at the U.S Department of State.  Before this role, Ms. Berry was the Director for International Digital Technology Policy at the National Security Council.

Ms. Berry’s previous roles at the Department of State include Director for Bilateral Affairs for International Communications and Information Policy (2018-2021), Senior Syria Assistance Coordinator in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (2014-2018) and as a country coordinator in the Office of Foreign Assistance Resources (2011-2014).  Originally from Wisconsin, Ms. Berry holds a B.A. in International Relations from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and a Masters in Middle East Studies from the University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
