Seth Green

Seth Green is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Logistics Management and a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Counselor. He is responsible for developing policies, systems, and plans to optimize the Department’s global supply chain services in support of U.S. national security and foreign policy priorities. In addition to supporting the Foreign Service and interagency, Logistics Management takes pride in supporting our families who serve alongside us around the world.

Overseas, Mr. Green last served as the Senior Regional Security Officer for the U.S. Mission to South Africa, leading the overseas security program at the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria as well as the Consulates General in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. He also served as the Regional Security Officer (RSO) at the U.S. Embassies in Bulgaria and Tajikistan, the Deputy Regional Security Officer (DRSO) for Protective Operations in Afghanistan, and as the Assistant Regional Security Officer (ARSO) in Uzbekistan.

Domestically, he led the Defensive Equipment and Armored Vehicles Division, which received the Chief Acquisition Officers Council’s 2022 Program Management Team of the Year. His also served as the Branch Chief in the Project Coordination Division responsible for workplace and residential physical security policy and risk management, as a Supervisory Special Agent in the Directorate of Threat Investigations and Analysis, and as a criminal investigator at the Diplomatic Security Service’s Washington Field Office.

A graduate of the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, Mr. Green’s private sector experience includes various management roles at Factory Motor Parts, an OEM and aftermarket auto parts distributorship. Mr. Green joined the State Department as a Diplomatic Security Special Agent in 2002. He studied Russian and Bulgarian at the Foreign Service Institute. Seth is the recipient of several Department and interagency awards including the Department’s Heroism Award, the 2020 Diplomatic Security Special Agent of the Year, multiple Meritorious Unit Citations from the Director of National Intelligence, the 2014 OSAC Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Security Foundation, and the Medal of Honor and Valor from the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior.
