Wade C. Martin was appointed Deputy Chief Information Officer of Foreign Operations in November 2019.  He directs IT infrastructure, core IT modernization, telephone systems and radio networks, emergency and special event mobile satellite systems, and other programs and services.  Mr. Martin manages an IT investment of $154 million and leads a workforce of more than 600 including the forward-deployed Regional Information Management Centers providing global regional technical and operations support to the more than 300 overseas sites, and nearly 100,000 technology users.

Mr. Martin began his career with the Department in 1998.  He has served in Washington as Director of Information Technology Infrastructure and Director of Governance, Resources, and Performance Management in IRM.  He was posted overseas as Information Management Officer in Rome, Kabul, and Tallinn.  He also served in various positions in Jakarta, Vienna, and Libreville.  Mr. Martin has received numerous Meritorious and Superior Honor awards as well as the Thomas Morrison Information Management Award.  He holds a M.S. from the Marine Corps University War College and a B.S. in industrial technology and safety from Keene State College.  He served in the United State Marine Corps from 1988 to 1993.
