On April 4, 2023, a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) returned an indictment against Carlos Omar Felix Gutierrez and others charging them with Fentanyl Importation Conspiracy, Fentanyl Trafficking Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns & Destructive Devices, Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns & Destructive Devices, and Money Laundering Conspiracy.
On March 16, 2023, Felix Gutierrez and a co-conspirator were arrested by the Colombian Directorate of the Judicial Police and Intelligence (DIJIN) agents as they deplaned their commercial flight in Bogotá based on a provisional arrest warrant associated with charges in the anticipated April 4, 2023, indictment. Felix Gutierrez remains in custody pending extradition hearings on the SDNY charges.
The U.S. Department of State is offering a REWARD OF UP TO $1 MILLION for information leading to the conviction of Carlos Omar Felix Gutierrez.
