Clean EDGE Asia: ENR’s Power Sector Program Provides Technical Support to the Bangladeshi System Operator

On September 17-18, ENR’s Power Sector Program’s implementer Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) held an in-person workshop for the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) and the National Load Dispatch Center on PNNL’s Power Plant Model Validation Tool and cybersecurity standards for control centers.  After enduring one of Bangladesh’s worst power outages earlier this year, PGCB is committed to improving system planning to enhance reliability, resilience, and security of the Bangladeshi grid as the country moves towards increased variable renewable energy integration and future interconnection with India.  PNNL will provide follow-on assistance on evaluating dynamic model data in the model validation tool as well as cybersecurity practices and policies.
