Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met today in Paris with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna. They discussed President Macron’s recent State Visit to Washington, DC, as well as ongoing joint efforts by the United States, France, G7 members, NATO allies, European Union member states, and many others, to support Ukraine in the face of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal war. The Deputy Secretary welcomed France’s hosting on December 13 of an international conference to build Ukrainian resilience. The Deputy Secretary and Foreign Minister also talked about developments in the Sahel and other issues impacting global peace, security, stability, and prosperity.
