Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan met today with Colombian Foreign Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo. During the meeting, the two reaffirmed the strength of our bilateral relationship and shared commitment to an integrated counternarcotics approach and to securing a just and lasting peace throughout Colombia. The Deputy Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed the need to keep pressure on the Maduro regime to restore democratic governance in Venezuela, while continuing to help the many Venezuelans fleeing to Colombia and to other countries throughout the region.
