The ISG American School Dhahran (ASD) and British School Dhahran (BSD) are coeducational day schools delivering preschool through grade 12 programs for expatriate students on a shared 40-acre campus. The site is also the location of the District Office of ISG. ISG (formerly SAIS – Saudi Arabian International School) was founded in 1962 and operates five schools throughout Saudi Arabia, serving approximately 4,000 students.  The school year comprises of two semesters extending from late August to mid-June.

Organization: ISG is governed by a seven-to-13-member board of trustees. It operates under a license granted by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education.

Curriculum: In addition to the two Dhahran campus schools, ISG operates three other schools within two curriculum divisions.  A U.S. curriculum is offered at the ASD, Jubail and Dammam school sites. These schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Students in the American division have a course of studies typical to that of North American schools.  Subjects offered include the core curricular areas of mathematics, social studies, English/language arts, science, Arabic, Spanish, French, technology, physical education, drama, instrumental and vocal music and a variety of AP courses. The IB Diploma program is offered at the ASD and Jubail schools. Students also participate in a full range of co-curricular activities including sports, drama, music festivals, study trips, MUN and Habitat for Humanity.  BSD and Sara Village School are the two British curriculum schools within ISG that offer the National Curriculum of England, accredited by the Council of International Schools.

Faculty: In the 2021-2022 school year, ASD has 119 total staff including 88 teachers.

Enrollment: For the 2021-2022 school year, enrollment at ASD is 1,147.

Facilities: The Dhahran campus is currently located on a 40-acre compound adjacent to the US Consulate.  The campus provides for the operational needs of ASD and BSD. A library resource center with approximately 100,000 items serves the two schools. Other facilities include a dining hall, three multi-purpose gymnasiums, a mini theatre, an auditorium, a preschool and a medical clinic. All facilities are air-conditioned. ASD and BSD will be moving to a new, purpose-built state-of-the-art campus in the 2021/22 school year. Located next to the Canary Vista Compound, it is within close proximity to Dhahran, Dammam and Khobar.  Once completed, the new ISG campus will be the premier education facility of its type in the Eastern Province.

Finances: For the 2021/22 school year, the tuition rates are as follows: kindergarten 1-2: SAR 65,795; grades 1-5: SAR 56,650; grades 6-8: SAR 60,325; and grades 9-12: SAR 68,200. Other fees for all grades; new student enrollment fee of SAR 10,000 (excl. VAT). Fees are payable by company reimbursement or direct parent payment.  Fees may vary from school to school. ISG Schools are operated on a not-for-profit basis. Fees are payable in Saudi Riyals.  (All fees quoted in Saudi Riyals.)
