Brief Description of Call -- The Government of Kuwait in coordination with the World Bank and the Government of Iraq will host a Reconstruction Conference February 13 in Kuwait City to marshal private sector investors to rebuild Iraq’s damaged infrastructure. Estimates indicate reconstruction will require more than $100 billion of investment, and Iraq seeks to attract U.S. companies interested in investing across different sectors, including: transportation, agriculture, energy, and urban renewal. Please join Deputy Secretary John J. Sullivan, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, and Deputy Assistant Secretary Andrew Peek for a Direct Line teleconference to discuss investment opportunities for U.S. businesses in Iraq as well as Reconstruction Conference details.
