U.S. Diplomatic Note Extending Annex I to U.S.-Ecuador Air Transport Agreement

The Embassy of the United States of America presents its compliments to the Honorable Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador and refers to the Ministry’s Note No. MREMH-SANE-2017-0033-N, dated August 29, 2017, which communicated a proposal by the Government of the Republic of Ecuador to extend until June 30, 2019, under the terms currently in effect, Annex I to the Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, signed at Washington on September 26, 1986, which Annex expired on June 30, 2017. The Ministry’s note further proposes that the Ministry’s note and the Embassy’s affirmative note in reply shall constitute an agreement between the two Governments that shall enter into force on the date of the Embassy’s note, with effect from June 30, 2017.

The Embassy is pleased to inform the Ministry that the Government of the United States of America agrees with the proposals set forth in the Ministry’s Note. Therefore, the Ministry’s Note and the present Note constitute an agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, which enters into force on the date of the present Note, September 12, 2017, with effect from June 30, 2017.
