• TOPIC: Naturalization Ceremony at the New York Tenement Museum

  • WHERE: The Tenement Museum, 103 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002

BACKGROUND:  This Thursday, U.S. Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Robert A. Katzmann, administered the Oath of Allegiance to America’s newest citizens during a naturalization ceremony at the New York Tenement Museum. The 16 citizenship candidates come from the following 14 countries: Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Guinea, India, Macedonia, Pakistan, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.

 U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Acting New York District Director Lee F. Bowes, Tenement Museum President Kevin Jennings, and former Chief Operating Officer of Greenpeace International Willem Van Rijm also participated in the ceremony.
