U.S. Telecommunication/ICT Preparatory Groups

U.S. input contributions and positions for international conferences and meetings involving international telecommunications and information policy matters are informed by preparatory processes convened by the Department of State for each meeting. Participation in these preparatory processes is limited to U.S. persons with telecommunications and information policy interests or technical expertise who are eligible and prepared to serve as advisors on the U.S. delegation and materially contribute to the preparation (e.g., take on work assignments such as producing or contributing to a U.S. input document to the meeting).

The results of the preparatory process and plans for future preparatory processes are customarily reported to the ITAC.

We have established the following email lists as a convenient means to coordinate the development of U.S. input contributions and positions:

  • ITU-PP-xx: Supports preparations for ITU Plenipotentiary Conferences, where “xx” indicates the year.
  • ITU-Council: Supports preparations for Council, its working groups, and preparations for the WSIS+10 review.

Standardization Sector

  • ITU-T: Supports preparations for major ITU-T meetings and conferences, e.g. WTSA and TSAG.
