CANDIDATE: Juan Carlos Iturregui

Juan Carlos Iturregui currently is the Managing Partner of Milan Americas, LLC, his consulting practice specializing in business, regulatory and public policy issues, with a focus on infrastructure and renewable energy projects in the Caribbean and Latin America. He serves as Vice Chair of the board of the United States Inter-American Foundation and recently concluded a 4-year term a member of the Board of Visitors at George Mason University. He is a former partner at Nelson Mullins, LLP, a national full-service law firm. Previously, he served as a Senior Advisor for over a decade at Denton, LLP, the world’s largest law firm. He also served on the Vice Chair of the American Red Cross, National Capital Region. Earlier, Mr. Iturregui was a member of the President’s Export Council, the nation’s top advisory panel on international trade and overseas markets.

Mr. Iturregui’s extensive experience developing commercial opportunities, public-private partnerships, and people-to people ties between the United States and Latin America, along with his strong record of civic engagement and demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams to achieve shared goals, makes him a well-qualified candidate to serve as the Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.

He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a J.D from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He speaks fluent Spanish.
